Today The Shamgar Report is four years old. The story of Shamgar is only found in one verse in the Bible, Judges 3:31. This passage records that he picked up an ox goad, (A pole with a sharp metal point) and killed 600 Philistines. According to the Jewish Historian Josephus, Shamgar died one year after his great feat. This story should be an inspiration to each and every one of us. Never should we be afraid to stand up for what we believe, regardless of the odds.
On October 5th 2007, I moved my blog to Gather.com where I started supporting Ron Paul for President. Since that time I have made friends, enemies, and a couple of trolls. Overall my experience here has been great, and look forward to the future.
While talking about Ron Paul, he happen to be on Glenn Beck’s show this week. Beck referred to the Congressman as being that lonely voice in the wilderness. For me is great to know that Ron Paul is still in Washington. It is good to find someone, in Congress, who still believes in the Constitution. It seems today most people in public office feel socialism is the answer.

Coming Together
Many of the Obama supporters are asking all of us to come together. Most conservatives, like myself, want Obama to succeed for America’s sake. Still so many on the far left are still trashing George W. Even when he gave into their demands of a socialistic bailout, they still are filled with inhuman hate.
Also I still find post where Republicans are stalked and harassed, while being asked to work together. Talking out both sides of the mouth will never bring about true unity. One never gains respect by spitting in the face of others. Many on the far left will never learn this concept. The Democrats have won, they are in control. The left is getting their way and should be happy. Yet it still seems this has not soothed their hatred for those who disagree with them. If true unity is going to come about, they will have to calm down.

The Destiny of Swiss Cheese
Swiss cheese has only one destiny. It is to be eaten. If not it’s holes become molded and a place for roaches to dwell.

My Thoughts on Rick Warren
This past Presidential election appeared at first to be a great victory for the far left. I know Mike Huckabee believes they will become his biggest critics. In some cases this may be true. I know many are unhappy about Rick Warren giving the prayer at the inauguration.
First I want to say that Rick Warren is not a political activist. He is a pastor and a writer. His book The Purpose Driven Life has been an inspiration to many, including myself. I know after my divorce, the problems in my life became overwhelming. One weekend, while visiting my parents, my dad recommended I buy the book. I have read it three times, and still keep it by my nightstand. The message in this book is not new, but Warren brings to light many scriptures that provide encouragement through tough times.
One thing I will say about Warren , he gave Obama a far chance, and was respectful. This cannot be said about the far left. They are never fair or respectable to those who disagree with them. Since Warren was fair, I think he has won the respect of Obama.
For decades past Presidents sought advice from Billy Graham. Since Graham has retired from public life, Rick Warren may become that man who future Presidents seek out in tough times.

Rose from the Ice
A rose carved from ice slowly melts away. Imitations of nature vanish quickly, even when crafted by men of great talent. The superiority of mankind is rejected.
This was my first try of a writing snippet of 30 words or less.

Joe the Plumber
I cannot believe The Far Left are still up in arms over Joe the Plumber. They are so upset about him becoming a war correspondent for Pajamas TV. After all this America, the Land of Opportunity. Pajamas TV is a private company and they can hire whoever they wish. Anyway why would anyone care what he does for a job? Personally I don’t know the man, and could care less what he does for a living.
Then again there is still a lot of hostility among some of the Obama supporters. Like I said on another post, I have accepted the fact Obama will become President. I wish America to prosper, regardless of who sits in the White House.
If I can accept Obama as President, surely The Far Left can accept Joe the Plumber becoming a war correspondent.

Setting the Record Straight
An incident that happened on Gather.
I just want to set the record straight on what I said concerning the issue of Obama’s birth certificate. One person wrote an article on this particular subject, and used my blog’s name , “The Shamgar Report” as a tag. The fact is I have never written an article on this particular subject. However I did make some comments on another post. One comment simply stated that there may be nothing to this, and Obama should just show his birth certificate and move on. Another comment stated that the Obama supporters don’t care, and the Democrat Congress will not look into it. Regardless if it’s the truth or a lie. You would think one would get the impression that I am not pushing this certain issue.
It is true that I don’t like Obama, and have said many negative things about him. This is my right given to me by the Constitution. The Bush haters have this same privilege. As stated in a previous post, my desire is for this nation to survive. I want the United States to prosper, even if my candidate lost. This statement alone should be evidence that I am not pushing the birth certificate controversy.
For those who disagree with me I have no problems. My only problem is when someone stalks, and harasses over political debate. This is why I now approve all comments on political post and pings. If you have a problem with me, lets keep it between us and don’t make the comments public. Just send me an email, and we talk there. Hey I will even give you my phone number, and we can talk one on one.
If you want to know how I feel about a certain issue, just ask me. Those who know me realize I am not bashful when it comes to my political beliefs. Once you know for sure then you can tag me all you want.
In closing I wish everyone Happy New! This goes for Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Greens, Libertarians, Constitutionalist, and to non-political people as well.
